Why are these kids smiling?

I had such fun playing with the children at the shelter in Zhodino, Belarus.

Even before I got here…

Greetings from Karl Marx Street!

The work of our “Response of the Heart” team is continuous — they don’t wait for me to visit!
We have the joy of sharing humanitarian aid with foster families in Minsk.
This new load came and went as I was heading toward Belarus.
A wheelchair, a bicycle, clothing, and much more …
Your generosity provides, for the children in these families, a level of support they could never enjoy otherwise.
Thank you to all who give with such compassion to NewThing.net.
More photos to come!
Thanks for journeying with us!
Much love,

Nothing but good news!

I’m smiling.

When I asked friends of New Thing to meet a $1,000 matching challenge to provide care for sick children at a boarding school in Porechsky, several responded, and very generously.
So when I leave for Belarus on February 10th, I’ll be taking good news for the workers there.
Meanwhile, we just got more good news from Ushachi, near the Russian border.
At the shelter for abused and abandoned children, they urgently needed an adequate closet for up to 12 children’s clothing and belongings.
A generous family in Texas responded with the necessary funding, the work has been completed, the children and the workers are thrilled!
Thank you to all who have given so graciously to care for people in need in the former USSR!
Much love,
